Danish 1/8 Nitro Buggy Championship Round 6, 28/Sep/2008

The 6th round of Danish 1/8 nitro buggy championship was held in Greve, GRCC Race Club, nice track out there. The track was hard to go around fast because of the small holes all around the track. We only had one practice in the morning, but I was already dialed up. After chosen the right tires and clutch setup, I can run 10 minutes without any pits.

To get to the top of the starting grid is my next goal. Lots of drivers were going fast at the same time. I made minor mistakes during some qualifies and ended up in 3rd position overall.

The top 3 results after all qualifiers:
1. Rune Gustavsson
2. Steffen Culmsee
3. Martin Lissau (35'ers)

The Semi was up. Because of the track changes the car was now very hard to drive. I did drive very safe, I easily got to top and had a 20 second lead after a while. Then, my engine flamed out during the last pitstop because of a dead plug and it took sometime to fire it up again. I dropped down to 6th position and I knew I had to go faster to bump up. I managed to get 5th position and make the final.

Final was the next thing. Robert Hansen and I were leading the race after 5 minutes. After the first pitstop, I was taking the lead from a quick pitstop. Robert, in 2nd place, worked very hard but still could not catch up. I ran away from the traffic after 15 minutes and bring the championship back home, thx to my mechanics, they did a wonderful job.

The final standings:
1. Martin Lissau (35'ers)
2. Robert Hansen
3. Jan D. Hansen
4. Michael Krat
5. Silas Hogholt
